The Deputy Director of Operations of the United Party ( UP) Madam Afia Korankyewaa is accusing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party for hijacking the party.
adding that the The outspoken female politician claims Bawumia’s attitude is driving a lot of old members from the NPP
In an interview with the media, the Deputy Director of Operations of Alan Kyerematen’s United Party expressed concern that the party had strayed from its original ideals making it unattractive to many people.
She said the party has become divided by heavy factionalism and vindictiveness all because of Bawumia’s poor leadership style.
Ms Korankyewaa was insulted,attacked and tagged as NDC member by the NPP’s social media militants who can’t stand opposing views.
Now Bernard Antwi Boasiako,known in the Political space as Chairman Wontumi and the MP for Effiduase Asokore who is remote controlling Bawumia as his “small boy ” made it clear last Sunday at Chairman Wontumi’s birthday party that NPP is now Bawumia’s party,”what a pity” she added.
She revealed that the culture of intimidation arrogance is destroying the elephant family.
The Deputy Operations Director emphasised that those who are hired to attack wise people in the party do not even understand the party they’re fighting for, but they only
denigrate high profile personalities who want the right thing to be done in the party.
“Criticism is not betrayal and not every dissenting voice is an NDC,”she advised.
Her comments come after some NPP members described her as NDC member who us doing the bidding for her paymasters.
In the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency, eight party members have filed an interlocutory injunction application at the High Court halt the impending polling station elections.
The plaintiffs in the suit claim that the action of the executives in the area breaches the party’s constitution.
In other related development, some disgruntled members of the New Patriotic Party in the Asante Akyem Central are also threatening to join the governing NDC if the process is not halt.
Several grassroot members in the Ejisu constituency are also accusing the constituency Chairman, Agyapong Twumasi Ampofo for selecting his favourites with the intention of unseating the sitting Member of Parliament, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng.
The story is not different in the Atwima Kwanwoma constituency.
Tension is rising within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bekwai Constituency of the Ashanti Region, as a group of disqualified polling station aspirants has formally petitioned the party’s regional and national executives.
The aggrieved members are raising concerns over what they describe as irregularities in the recent vetting exercise, alleging that the process lacked transparency and fairness.
