The late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, will be laid to rest today, Monday, January 5, following his death on Sunday, January 4, after a short illness.
The announcement was made by the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, Yussif Jajah, who disclosed that with the support of President John Dramani Mahama, swift arrangements were made to secure the release of the late MP’s body for burial.
In line with Islamic tradition, a Janazah prayer will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Ayawaso East Constituency Office along the Kanda Highway. The prayer will be led by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. Following the prayers, the late MP will be buried at the Madina Cemetery.

Paying tribute, Mr. Jajah described Mahama Naser Toure as a respected and dedicated leader whose passing has left a significant gap in Parliament and the Ayawaso East constituency. He noted that the late MP served four consecutive terms and made a lasting impact through his commitment to community development and youth mentorship.
He highlighted key projects initiated or supported by the late MP, including “Operation Cement Your Lungu,” which improved sanitation and infrastructure in parts of Nima. Additional contributions included road projects, improvements at the Nima Police Station, and support for the Nima Government Hospital.
Mr. Jajah added that whoever succeeds the late MP will face the challenging task of continuing his work and building on the legacy he left behind.
